Success at the Hanoverian Inspections 2009

Due to the late birth of her first foal, Einherz, in August of 2008, our Hanoverian mare, Wolkenfee (Wolkenstein II-Goodnight My Love xx, China Silk xx) has finally made it to her Inspection this summer. Fee made Main Studbook Mare with a final score of 7.0.

We are extremely proud of her scores, receiving as follows...
Head 8, Neck 7, Saddle Position 8, Frame 6, Forelegs 7, Hindlegs 7, for a Confirmation Score of 43.
Conformation 7, Typiness and Femininity 7, Correctness of Gaits 7, Impulsion and Elasticity 7/7, Walk 7, Overall Impressions, and Development 7, for a Total Score of 43 and a Final Score of 7.0.

We have great respect for the intense degree of difficulty involved in receiving scored such as these. The American Hanoverian Society prides itself on the maintenance of a very high standard. This high standard makes our efforts in the rearing and breeding of this mare, and others, something we are very proud of.

Our sincere thanks to the AHS Inspection Team and Maple Run for hosting the site at Jefferson, Wisconsin on July 30, 2009.

Spring Cleaning!

Nubbs and Willow have become fast friends. Nubbs, and eight year old gelding, has been alone since last summer when his pal Kyle left for Vancouver. I reluctantly put our yearling gelding Willow in with Nubbs. No problem. They immediately began their spring cleaning and a charming friendship has emerged. Nubbs is 14.3. I didn't want him to flatten the little guy, however, he is very tolerant of Willow's playfulness.

Livia JD Is Available for Purchase

Born 4-9-2004, Livia is a friendly attentive mare.
She has never been bred and has slipped through
a crack when we moved two years ago. Bottom
line she has not been started. She is willing and
fun to be with and would do well with someone
wanting to start their own horse. She is a fresh
mind with no baggage.
See northwindhaflingers.com
for price, pedigree, video and information on
her fine lineage. You can also e-mail us at

Soba TCF aka Honey Update

The filly Soba TCF, purchased by us in the summer
of 2007 at the AHR Spring Sale at Ashland, Ohio, has
won the hearts of Pete and Laura Merbeth of Milwaukee,
Wisconsin. On a visit to our Farm, the Merbeths were
looking for a Haflinger as Pete had worked with
Haflingers in German were he grew up.

Soba had only been at our Farm for a month when the
Merbeths saw her and fell in love. Since then, they have
wasted no time in Soba's training. They hope to drive
Soba, or Honey as she is called, however, in the process,
the Merbeths did have her prepped for the Haflinger
Inspections in the summer of 2008 by Mary Procopio,
Lilac Farm, Laingsburg, Michigan. The talented two
year old was not missed with a score of "9" for
overall movement.

Congratulations to the Merbeths on their dedication
to this promising youngster.

Laura, Pete and their granddaughter Morgan had kept
in touch with us so we continue to monitor the success
of this wonderful horse and her new family.

Hanoverian Einherz at Three Months
